Peruano peludo (kennel Nort Brun)

13.05.2013 - 12:40:13

http://picasaweb.google.com/nahaci123       Peruano PELUDO is a beautiful Spanish name for the varieties of the coated Peruvian hairless dog. The title in English: PERUVIAN COATED DOG, in Czech: PERUÁNSKÝ OSRSTĚNÝ PES,  This truly amazing dog has a beautiful, athletic build and 100% character of the Peruvian hairless dog.

Mostly always, there are the coated dogs in the Peruvian litters. These dogs are not coated by mistake in breeding, but they belong to the Peruvian breed. Some of the breeders say that it is a litter of hairless dogs that is genetically excluded. Each hairless dog also bears a coated gene. When these genes of the coated dogs fuse, the result will be a coated/hairy puppy.

The hair is usually short; its length is similar to the Whippets or Greyhounds. It may be moderately long; its length is similar to the Border Collies. The colour of the coat of the PERUVIAN COATED VARIETIES is unlimited; all the colour combinations are possible, from black to white annealing with spots, various shades of a sand colour that can be annealed. (See the photo section - from Peru)

the coated puppies are issued proper pedigree certificates, are duly registered in the pedigree dog book with a note ?nonstandard?, therefore they do not participate in the exhibitions organized by the Club. In our country, they are not allowed to be used for breeding. In many countries, especially in Peru, these Peruvian coated/hairy individuals are used for breeding, where they, together with hairless dogs, enhance the quality of the Peruvian hairless dog breed.

The Deformation of the Auricle and the External Auditory Canal Closure

06.02.2011 - 09:46:19

http://picasaweb.google.com/nahaci123   Why do I publish this article that has been written only according to my personal experience? In breeding of the Peruvian hairless dogs, there appear defects which are not usually written or spoken about. It is, for example, the cleft palate, the intergrown/closure of ear canal, etc.

At the beginning, I would like to emphasize that this article is based only on my experience, not based on any systematic scientific research.

What in fact preceded the defect of "deformation of the auricle and enclosure of the external auditory canal", because the defects of this type repeated. The female, mother of the puppies, was normally in heat for 35 days, she was staining for several days, part of the time this staining was hidden. In this case, the service was not planned, the female was in heat already for 42 days, and therefore after the agreement with the vet, she was serviced. Three days after the service, the staining stopped. And she gave birth to 4 puppies in due course; with the two of which the fault deformation of the auricle and the intergrown external auditory canal occurred. They were a male and female. I had previously read about this problem on the pages of the breeding station from the Netherlands. It was for the first time when this defect of the Peruvian hairless dogs was openly admitted and published; so in my article, I will use some findings of this Dutch female-breeder, who mainly deals with the genetic defects in the Peruvian hairless dogs.

!!!!! Postanatal eclampsia !!!!!

05.02.2011 - 14:53:25

10.03.2008

Eclampsia, known also as galactopyra, childbed tetany, lactation tetany or hypocalcaemia, is an acute disease of lactating animals accompanying by tonic and clonic convulsions and consciousness defect, eventually by death. Eclampsia affects bitches especially during the first 4 weeks post partum (mostly in the period of maximum lactation). In smaller degree this disease also occurs in a gestation period (about 20 days before birth) and rarely also in the later period of lactation. Mostly little and middle breed with above-average milk-production or restless bitches taking care of litter of bigger amount of puppies are affected. On the basis of proved changes in metabolism there is considered hypocalcaemia to be the main cause of eclampsia – i.e. drawndown of calcium in blood under limit 1,7 mmol/l. However, it is important to be aware that it does not necessarily need to deal with the total deficit of calcium in the body, but affection of rate of concentration of ionized calcium and calcium related to proteins. This dysbalance can result from several causes. For instance alkalosis participates in reduction of ionized form of calcium in extracellural fluid. Respiratory alkalosis is the result of the processes connected with hyperventilation. The major share of the rise of the fall of the concentration of Ca 2+ represents also nutrition of gravid animal. Above-average supply of calcium during pregnancy can have a negative influence post partum.

Skin care

06.02.2011 - 09:43:00

http://picasaweb.google.com/nahaci123 The first question, which I am asked by people, wherever I meet them with one of our Peruvian hairless dogs and who are attracted by them is: "....in summer you have to use sunscreen a lot, so that they did not get sunburnt, don`t you?"

My answer: we do not have to use sunscreen because they will not get sunburnt."

EXPLANATION:
Skin of a Peruvian hairless dog has been developed by nature also from the aspect of absorbtion of red radiation very properly. Skin of Peruvian hairless dogs starting with October becomes lighter, suddenly the colour of a hairless dog starts to blending with the autumn nature. However, in February the skin starts getting darker again.
The longer the hairless dog is outdoores, the quicker the skin gets dark. In the period, when the sun starts shining intensively, the skin of a hairless dog has already been dark.  The hairless dog, who has a browny skin, sunburns subsequently so that even during a long-term stay in sunshine the skin will not get sunburnt.  From that view it is evident that it is not necessary to apply any sunscreen on the skin, which protects from sunburn.
The problem may come up only with hairless dogs, so called Peruvian Inca Orchid, whose skin has light spots and it is exposed to a direct sunshine for a long time and so the light spots can naturally get sunburnt, which any sunsreen can not protect from.
